2016 State of the League Address

We have completed our first year, and it was excellent! Thus far, there have been over 130 SETX FFL games played in four separate events. I believe that we have set up a sustainable organization that will be able to provide a quality football experience for many years to come.

Last year, I set forth the following objectives for us to achieve by June 1, 2016: A. Complete our inaugural season with all eight teams intact. B. Raise $2,500 for worthy causes. C. Retain at least six of our original eight teams for the 2016 Spring League.

I am proud to say that we met or exceeded every one of those objectives! Our organization is growing…and it is growing fast! We have over 600 Facebook ‘likes,’ over 5,000 views of our 33 YouTube videos, and we have expanded to Twitter and Instagram. We have been able to donate $2,800 to worthy causes and have provided some excellent awards for our event winners and stand-out performers. We have also developed a new website (www.setxffl.com) that is sleek and dynamic.

It has taken a lot of hard work for us to get to this point. Our unpaid board members have shown dedication and perseverance, and without them, none of this could be possible. I believe I speak for them when I say that we want only to provide our players and fans with the most excellent flag football experience possible.

Moving forward, we are revamping our rules and policies to make our games more fun and exciting, and to make our events run smoothly and professionally. We will continue to constantly update our social media and website so that everyone is informed and entertained. I look ahead to our upcoming FOOTBALL IS COMING! II Tournament with great anticipation and enthusiasm, and I know that our second season will be even better than the first.

To all of you players, fans, and supporters: We appreciate so much your support and participation thus far. We welcome any and all criticisms and new ideas – if you contact us, we will listen.

To the board members: Thank you so much for all that you do. You all are what makes this organization the very best flag football experience around, and I appreciate each and every one of you.
